"WORTH THE WEIGHT" CD review by WYCE Radio in Grand Rapids, MI.

This five piece Upper Peninsula based blues band is nothing if not versatile. With both female and male lead vocals and two guitarists the band comes to the party with lots of tricks in its bag. Add special guests on mandolin, harmonica and keyboards and you get a live juke box of styles.

The 12 cuts collected here include everything from straight rocking blues, 'Mean Time', standard shuffles, 'Good Stretch of Bad Luck' and 'Headin’ Up North', slinky reggae, 'Cold Cold Water', Motown infused soul, 'Turn Back the Hands of Time', mysterious mambo, 'Woods Ride', slow burning blues, 'Lies' (which features some mighty tasty guitar on the break) and classic 1950s blues with the Otis Rush tune 'All Your Love (I Miss Lovin)'.

While this wide gamut of styles could result in an incohesive mess the band has enough years of filling dance floors under its belt to make it all flow together like the disparate styles naturally fit together.
