FLAT BROKE MEMBERS RECOGNIZED WITH ARTS AWARDS

Congratulations to Flat Broke Blues Band members Walt Lindala and Lorrie Hayes for recently receiving Arts Awards from the city of Marquette Arts & Culture committee. Lindala was awarded the City of Marquette's 2006 "Community Arts Activist" Award and Hayes received the "Outstanding Performing Artist" for the year.
The pair were nominated for the annual awards by members of the arts community and they were honored, along with several other award recipients, at a reception and presentation ceremony at the Peter White Library in Marquette on Friday, May 19th, 2006.
The awards were held in conjunction with the Lake Superior Art Associations' 30th annual Juried Member show which was on display in the Lower Level Gallery in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center.
Congratulations to all of the award winners. We are grateful to all of you who promote art and music in the Marquette area!
