YELLOW SNOW BENEFIT THIS FRIDAY

posted on February 5th, 2008

Come out for a great night of live entertainment and prizes and dance the night away to benefit the U.P. 200 Sled Dog Race. The annual "Yellow Snow Blues" Dance will feature music by Marquette's premiere blues band, The Flat Broke Blues Band, as well as several giveaway prizes suited to the race. Prizes include select items of winterwear, Doncker's Candy and hockey tickets.

The event kicks off at 8-pm this Friday, February 8th, at the UpFront & Company Banquet Hall and runs until Midnight. The cover charge at the door is $5.00 and all proceeds will benefit the running of the U.P. 200 and Midnight Run the next weekend in Marquette and Alger Counties.

Flat Broke Blues Band founder and guitarist Walt Lindala says, "This is our fourth year of helping out the UPSDA with this event, and we love to do it!" Lindala adds that the show marks the return of the band to a Marquette stage for the first time since last fall. "We have not played in the Marquette area since early September and this will be a great chance for folks to come out and see the new songs we've added to our show! We've played all over from downstate in Petoskey to the Green Bay area in the last few months, and it will be good to be home."
