Blues music takes center stage at the Peter White Public Library Community Room with the introduction of Bluesday Tuesday.
Beginning Tuesday, September 1st at 7:00 pm, the Marquette Area Blues Society will present a series of sessions that will mix of blues music education and entertainment. The sessions are free to the public. The shows will be a combination live music performances and educational discussions on the history of the blues.
The first session will be presented by the Flat Broke Blues Band and will include a chronological history of the music including its roots in the Mississippi Delta and the northward progression to Chicago. Songs from artists like Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, and Steve Ray Vaughan will be performed by the band with background on the song's original artists being presented.
